My favourite venues to shoot weddings

in Montreal, Estrie and Ontario

Photographing a wedding is about much more than documenting a location. It’s about understanding how light moves through a space, how rooms breathe, and how a setting can support a story without ever overpowering it. Over time, certain venues become obvious favorites. Not only for their beauty, but for what they allow me to create.

Here are a few of my favorite venues to photograph, each for very different reasons, yet all offering a strong sense of atmosphere, intention, and visual richness.

Château Saint-Antoine

Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Quebec

Château Saint-Antoine embodies a timeless elegance that feels both classic and welcoming. It lends itself naturally to refined celebrations, where every detail already feels thoughtfully placed. The architecture, the vast beauty of the grounds, and the quality of natural light create a setting that photographs beautifully in every season. It’s a venue that allows images to feel polished yet warm, structured yet emotional.

Château St-Agnès

Sutton, Quebec

Château St-Agnès feels like a grand European destination without ever losing its sense of intimacy. Surrounded by nature, this winery offers a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor moments. The grounds provide endless visual possibilities, while the interiors remain calm and refined, while offering the perfect wow factor. It’s a space that invites slower pacing, allowing moments to unfold naturally and images to feel both cinematic and grounded.

Le Belvédère

Wakefield, Quebec

Le Belvédère is defined by its views, light, and sense of openness. Perched above the Gatineau hills, it offers a breathtaking backdrop that changes constantly throughout the day. What I love most about photographing here is how effortlessly the environment becomes part of the story. The scale of the landscape adds depth and emotion, while the architecture remains clean and unobtrusive, letting the focus stay on the people and the moment.

Club Atwater offers a rare balance of history, intimacy, and understated sophistication. Its interiors have character without feeling heavy, making it ideal for couples drawn to an editorial yet relaxed atmosphere. The light here is soft and directional, perfect for candid moments and layered compositions. It’s a venue that encourages storytelling through texture, contrast, and quiet elegance. It also offers the perfect space for high flash, indoor photography.

Aquatopia

Ottawa, Ontario

Aquatopia is unlike any other venue. Its modern lines, glass structures, and surrounding greenery create a setting that feels fresh, architectural, and visually bold. It’s a dream location for couples who appreciate contemporary design and strong compositions. The interplay between reflections, transparency, and natural elements allows for striking imagery that still feels organic and intimate.

A last note

Each of these venues offers something distinct, but what they share is the ability to support a wedding experience that feels intentional, fluid, and deeply personal. They provide the kind of environment where moments can unfold naturally, and where images can live beyond trends.

If you’re planning your celebration at one of these locations, or are still searching for the venue that feels right, I’d be happy to connect and explore what your day could look like through my lens.

Portrait of Veronique Jones, wedding photographer in Montreal and destination

Hello, I'm Veronique Jones

Wedding Photographer
Logo of Veronique Jones, Montreal & Toronto wedding photographer

I’m a Montreal-based wedding photographer with nearly 20 years of experience in live events, including the last decade focused exclusively on weddings. Over the years, I’ve developed an approach that puts couples at ease in front of the camera. Even those who swear they’re “not photogenic.”

By guiding without over-directing, I create images that feel natural, confident, and genuinely reflective of who you are. The result isn’t just beautiful photographs, but a positive, relaxed experience that couples remember just as fondly as the images themselves.
