I’ve always believed that life is a canvas. Not in the cliché “paint your own destiny” way, but in the truest, most literal sense: every moment is made of colours.
Before I was ever a photographer, I was an observer. I’ve been creating art in one form or another since I was young. First with a pencil, sometimes with fabric and thread, and eventually with a camera in my hands. I’ve dabbled in sewing over the years, and it’s made me deeply aware of how colours work together, how the right hue of blue can infuse an entire piece with unexpected warmth, how the texture of fabric changes the way light plays on it. Those details may seem small, but to me, they’re everything.
Nature, of course, remains the greatest artist of all. The rich greens after a summer rain, the way sunlight turns gold in the late afternoon, the pinks and oranges that bloom in the sky just before dusk. These moments feel almost impossible to replicate. Yet as a photographer, I try. I chase those fleeting colours, knowing they can never truly be recreated, only remembered.
And that’s where my work begins. Photography, for me, isn’t just about freezing a scene—it’s about preserving its feeling. When you look back at a wedding day, I don’t want you to simply see it. I want you to remember the exact warmth of the light on your skin, the way your bouquet’s colours popped against your dress, the rich tones of your partner’s suit, the soft blue of the sky above you. These are more than just details, they’re the soul of a memory.
That’s why I photograph the way I do: intentionally, thoughtfully, with a deep respect for the artistry that already exists in the world around us. I see my role as both an artist and a keeper of souvenirs. Visual ones that allow you to relive your most cherished moments as vividly as the day they happened.
